PSY-HARMONICS 30 SONIC YEARS [ZEN PARADOX + VJ MANADALA]
After 10yrs since Zen Paradox (Steve Law) and VJ Mandala (Adem Jaffers) had collaborated at the Psy-Harmonics 20th anniversary, they come together here in a live-stream event to celebrate 30 Sonic Years anniversary of Psy-Harmonics. The event was live-streamed from a studio location in Melbourne’s north.
In this mix Zen Paradox live-mixed a 1:20min collection of tracks using Traktor. The resulting MP3 was taken into Abelton Live 11 Lite where VJ Mandala extracted Groove Patterns (midi notes) from sections of mix. These midi notes were then mapped to visual clips in Resolume to create a live triggered visual clip base.
For the live-stream the audio track was played in Ableton, using NDI out plug in the audio was sent to another laptop running vMix. Resolume also injested the Ableton audio out to allow for Audio Reactive triggering of clip/vfx various parameters.
Live VFX/clip triggering was performed live to enhance the pre-triggered clips. Resolumes output was sent via NDI to vMix also. In vMix bot A/V NDI streams were married and streamed to YouTube at 6Mbps. Titles, graphics and BOF titles were also added in vMix.
The original YouTube stream exists here:
Recorded live on YouTube : FRIDAY 22 DECEMBER 2023 @ 21:00 (AEST)
The Vimeo version has had the original MP3 mix re-stripped to master, titles were added top and tail for archival purposes.
